This month we are privileged as a church to be involved in the lives of our friends in MAF PNG. Phil and myself, the Cossa family and the Woodward family are all going to represent our church at the conference helping out in all different aspects of conference life. Many of you are also involved by praying for the family you have chosen through our photo cards. If you missed out on choosing a family please don’t forget you can still be involved by praying for the conference from July 3 – 6, that the MAF staff are revived and encouraged in their work and to pray also for those of us from Cairns that we will be all that God wants us to be during this time.

School holidays are upon us once again for the beginning of July. I just want to remind everyone what an important opportunity we have to uplift our children and their friends that they will receive rest and be excited about a new term. Also remember our teachers that they will use this time wisely and be refuelled to spend another term helping the children of Cairns to grow!

Don’t forget that Bill Mills will be here at the end of this month with some great teaching and encouragement for anyone interested. Don’t let an opportunity like this pass you by because of tiredness or simply a lack of interest. We need to grab hold of every opportunity we have to grow ourselves and to be excited about what God has in store for us!!! For this reason we have also included information on conferences and seminars from other churches – anything that will help us grow!!!!

We will also be holding a course for married couples during Term 3. There is so much brokenness in our world and our marriages are at great risk. What better way for Satan to hurt us than to break apart our family units!! Please be aware and take every step you can to prevent this from happening, let us grow our marriages!!

Lastly, I just want to make a special mention of the Ladies Prayer Retreat which is advertised in this newsletter. I really believe God is calling each of us individually to come before God and say “here I am, send me”. There is nothing better to God’s ears than to hear this statement. As we continue to pray this prayer with expectant hearts lets be ready to move as God leads us.
