Lifegroups in 2011 PDF Print E-mail
It’s always good to start the New Year with new challenges and one of the exciting challenges 2011 holds for me is helping to coordinate the life group ministry here at Centenary Lakes. I’ll share some more about what my role involves in the coming months, but for now I want to take a moment to speak to two groups within our community – those who aren’t currently part of a life group, and those who are leading or thinking of leading a group...

Why join a life group?

You may be participating in the church community in some way but feel you haven’t been able to establish meaningful relationships with those around you. For others it might be that you’re going through a time of hardship and you’re crying out for God to send someone your way to help ease the burden. For another group altogether it might be that you’re travelling well and God has been building up within you a desire to care for and minister to others, but you’re not sure how or where to start. Each of these potential scenarios highlights thatwe have been created by God to be in relationship with one another and I believe life groups are a vital part of addressing these needs and living out our calling as a community of God’s people. If you’re not currently part of a life  group can I please encourage you to take the time to seek God on whether 2011 is the time for you to become part of a life group.

Life group leaders

One of our key areas of focus this year will be how we best care for our life group leaders. My hope is that we not only provide leaders with the physical resources and training they require to carry out their role, but also the prayer,  encouragement and further support they need to effectively minister to their groups. I look forward to communicating with each of our life group leaders in the coming weeks and months as we explore this further. If you would like to chat further about life groups or you’re ready to find a group, please get in contact with me and I’ll be happy to help you take the next step.
