What does this ministry look like?
Helping men grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ to be servant leaders in His image.
Praise the Lord. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Psalm 112. 1-2
Why does this ministry exist?
One of the great things celebrated in our Australian culture is "mateship". It's encouraged and expected between blokes. As a group of men in the church we enjoy meeting together and as Christians encouraging one another in our walk with Christ.
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27.17
Mens ministry exists to encourage, challenge and equip men in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to train men to be disciples of Christ and Godly leaders. If we want to be Godly men we need to be men of God’s Word. We want the Holy Spirit to be able to take the Word of God and use it to change our lives and make us more like Jesus.
Mens ministry events serve to draw men into the Bible, challenge men to live Godly lives, be encouraged as they connect with each other and impact the lives of those around them for Jesus Christ as they live and lead with a genuine servant heart.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3.16-17
How can I get connected?
The Mens ministry aims to have a variety of groups, events and activities in different spaces and sizes, which men in the church community can involve themselves and their friends in. Events and activities can include:
- Mens retreats
- Mens lifegroups
- Teaching events – Bible, topical (eg. health, finance, work, fatherhood)
- Worship nights for men
- Sports events
- Small groups
- Leisure activities
- Movie nights
- Fishing trips
It is our intention to do all we can to provide a variety of entry points for the men of CLCC to connect with other men, to help them grow in their faith, and to provide opportunities to enable them to put their faith into action.
We want to equip men with the tools they need to find peace and purpose in their roles as leaders, husbands, fathers and friends. We want to help men learn how to balance work and family life, build stronger marriages, become better fathers, grow spiritually and experience true Christian mateship. Whether it's at a Monday night Bible Study or a footy game, men can find friendship, challenge and encouragement through the Lake’s Men's Ministry.
How can I find out more?
Look out for event notices in the church monthly newsletter, visit the church website or talk to other men in the church to find out what is happening.
