Wow what a year… at YZone we have seen the birth of Suburban and it has proven to go well. An opportunity for deeper relationships and deeper learning of what God has to say to us. We have
started to mould One Youth more in a direction that truly shows unity amongst the churches involved, and I with 3 other associates (Good Shepherd, Presbyterian and Baptist) have made the commitment to meet regularly to build and encourage each other as we learn to encourage your children. |

It takes courage to go along to a family bar-b-q where everyone seems to be part of the family and know each other and you know no-one (or at least very few) and yet that is what happened on Saturday 18th October.
I was so encouraged to see the involvement of our community and very pleasantly surp
rised to see people from our children’s ministries come along and get involved. We had all ages playing soccer & touch football. Kids riding their skateboards, bikes & scooters.
We even had a couple of “skate bikes”, almost like trying to ride a unicycle, which both young and old TRIED to ride. It was a great afternoon !!!! Thank you to everyone who came along, got involved and met
somebody new……..

Last Sunday at church after Rowan lead us into communion, I read what Paul wrote to his Christian brothers in Colosse - check out Colossians 1. Paul thanked God for the faith that these guys had in Christ and for their love for all the saints. He wrote of the impact of the gospel, of the hope it had given them, of the fruit and the growth that was happening as people heard and understood God's message of salvation - the |

What does your life look like? Is it flat out, busy? Are you tired out, empty? How are you filling your days? Does it fill you? Are you satisfied?
It is taking me many years to discover that although busyness may keep me busy, it doesn’t fill me up. I need something more. And I am also learning that, in spite of what the world tells me, stuff doesn’t do it either. No matter how much I own – I never have enough. As much as I might kid myself that if I could just get the latest car, outfit or ipod, then I’ll be full, the truth is, I’m not. I may be happy for a moment perhaps, until I see the first scratch, stain or newer model, and then I need more.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. (1 Co 4:20)
Jules and I had a great time in PNG sharing with the MAF family at their annual conference. They are such wonderful people and each year we go there is a new level of intimacy and power in which we can share. This year I shared with them some of the messages we have been looking at in recent weeks from Galatians. In particular I talked about the desire God has for us to be clothed with power so we can rise up with Him and fulfill our calling.
While Jules and I both love going over there, I must admit the thing I struggle with most is the flying. While I know there are more things that can go wrong when you are on the ground than when you are up in the air, the consequences are much greater when you are up in the air!!

Well the time has finally come when this month sees our Watoto Team head off (6th – 24th August) to Uganda to build the Watoto house. It has thus far been an exciting journey together since the concept was adopted by our church in February 2007!
Recent fundraising efforts have been so helpful – not only to the team and to the children in Uganda, but in building our own faith as we have seen God at work in our lives and through the hearts of others!
We will all look forward to the team sharing upon their return, but in the meantime a very special thank you must go to all of you who have very kindly contributed to this project in so many ways.
