Yzone rulesIt has been a great term 2, we started looking at the different ways Jesus is seen in the gospels, as The Good Shepherd, The Defender of the Weak and so on. And we will continue to do so in the new term as we look at DISCOVERING JESUS by Tim Hawkins. On July 5th The Big Bus Tour will be hitting Cairns and it will be a fun filled day with pro skaters and BMX riders at the Esplanade.

There will be food and a girls tent and it looks like it will be a ripper of a day for our youth. It will be followed by an hours bowling at Gold Pin Lanes and then a youth rally with a band and an awesome Speaker from Surfers who will challenge our young people. We have been having fun getting to know each other better on our Suburban nights, and every one that attends the one at Redlynch knows all about my favourite coffee tree (thank you Cordens) and my lime tree. Long story, ask your kids.

For our last night at youth this term we had a change of plans for the night. We had booked a water games night, and lo and behold… I have become acclimatised to the weather here. So feeling the cold we changed to a children’s party with fairy bread and pass the parcel… ahhh you are never too old to enjoy these treats…Recapping on who Jesus was and still is, we have been encouraged by seeing how we too can be like him. In order to be like him we are hoping to do some cooking for Street Level Youth Care as we try and be defenders of the weak, and as we try and live out the parable of the Sheep and the Goats.

I look forward to seeing how we continue to do this in the new term. Let me encourage you as parents to be involved in your children’s programs by
asking them questions, let’s really equip and encourage our young people.
Bless Ya
Walter
